Project | 01 Finlay's Fabulous Fictitious Fern Re-introduction using ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Extension
This project was conducted for the Spatial Statistics and Analysis course at Niagara College. The purpose of the project was to determine the most suitable location within Niagara College’s Glendale Campus for the reintroduction of a rare species of fern, Finlay’s Fabulous Fictitious Fern. Using the spatial analyst extension and Model Builder in ArcGIS a Multi Criteria Evaluation as well as a Fuzzy Overlay Analysis were conducted. The two methods were compared and contrasted and it was concluded that the ideal method to determine the best suited location was the Multi Criteria Evaluation as the results provided more compact accessible areas.

Project | 02 Buffer and Overlay Analysis of Select Niagara Region Wineries and Hydrology
This project was conducted for the ArcGIS applications course at Niagara College. The purpose of the project was to undertake a spatial analysis using ArcGIS for a number of wineries in the Town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, and determine which of the wineries contributes to the contamination of the surrounding hydrology. After a thorough analysis, it was concluded that all of the wineries are contaminating the surrounding hydrology.

Project | 03 ArcGIS Fictitious Town of Gumby 3D Landfill Analysis
This project was conducted for the Geospatial Models in Visualization course at Niagara College. The purpose of the project was to determine the remaining volume of waste that may be placed in the Fictitious Town of Gumby's landfill to reach the maximum allowable elevation profile dictated by the Ministry of Environment. Using advanced three-dimensional analysis, the landfill was digitally created and the remaining volume of waste was calculated. It was concluded that with 25,500 people contributing at an average of 0.38 tonnes/capita/year, the landfill can handle 67,957 m3 of waste and 5 more years before it is filled.
