Project | 01 Complete Streets Thesis

Working with Geospatial Niagara as our the client, it was the goal of the Complete Streets Thesis project to create a model with Python and ArcGIS that quantified the completeness (accessibility, aesthetics, walkability, etc.) of Welland Ave/Fourth Ave in St. Catharines using data such as sidewalks, bus stops, bike lanes and many more. By assigning typologies such as rural, transitioning, and urban general narrow to the street segments of our study area, we were able to give an importance weighting to the data to better calculate the completness. As the Project Manager, I delegated tasks to the team and ensured work was being completed on time and effectively. We discovered much of the study area was between 50% and 75% complete and therefore required some improvement from the Municipal Government.
